Saree in dance
Classical dance, a lyrical form of performance art that involves rhythmic body movements and flexibility has observed Saree as an ultimate drape for the dancers. From Bharatnatyam using silk screes to Kuchipudi, Odissi and Mohinattam dancers cherish the attire as it adds grace and helps check dance postures. Sarees can be worn for practice sessions and for stage performances as well. Dance Sarees are bit different from usual ones as they are shorter in length and worn above chudidars. Their pallu is tied around the waist to facilitate dance movements. They are comfortable as they are made of cotton and absorb all the sweat. At the same time, Saree defines the shape of the body and helps to see how clean are the dance postures which cannot be seen in other attires like kurtas.
Sarees, with its graceful appeal, is not here to make you feel restricted. rather its very versatile apparel that can be domned in daily wear.
